Drawerful Project

A cabinet of curiosities, also known as “Wunderkammer” or “wonder room,” was a precursor to the modern museum. In Drawerful, Art & Ecology Practicum students used old kitchen drawers for 3D assemblages critically responding to that history, asking themselves, what if we saw other species not only as objects to be collected, preserved and studied, but as living beings who are themselves holders of knowledge? These works were installed in the Salish Wonder Room.
