Marketing and Special Events

Marketing and Special Events for the College of Fine and Performing Arts is managed by two staff members who report to the Dean. The Manager of Marketing and Special Events works with the Multimedia Designer to:

  • Design and maintain websites for the College, Departments, and affiliated units.
  • Draft, edit, and approve press releases (internal and external to campus)
  • Design and publish marketing and publicity collateral
  • Manage content for social media platforms
  • Coordinate inter-departmental event communication
  • Devise, manage, and publicize College, Department, and Unit Special Events (receptions, galas, dine-arounds, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with Western Washington University Communications policies, procedures, style and branding guidelines
  • Coordinate overall marketing activity within the College by providing templates, information, best practices, and training to faculty, staff, and students involved in marketing events.


Marketing collateral includes (but is not limited to):

  • Website and social media posts, cover images, event images
  • Mailchimp e-blasts and images
  • Print and online ads
  • Press images
  • Digital slides (still or animated)
  • Flyers/handbills/postcards
  • Posters
  • Playbill covers
  • Brochures/mailers
  • Greeting cards
  • Banners and window clings
