Amara Farah's (she/her) clarinet recital is in celebration of her hard work and growth as a clarinetist during her time at Western. This recital is also an act of gratitude to her family, friends, and professors who have contributed to her journey as a clarinetist. She's greatly enjoyed her time under the direction of Dr. Rachel Yoder and Prof. Erika Block and plans to continue playing after her time at Western.

Paige Wiesinger, a close friend, will be her pianist and partner for this recital, as they have been a mighty duo since their first quarter at Western. Notably, they won the 2023 WWU Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition together performing Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos.

Amara is double-majoring in composition and musicology and minoring in honors interdisciplinary studies, and she greatly values performance on both clarinet and piano. On clarinet, she has been performing in the top ensembles at WWU since her first quarter, including the Western Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony. She has also played in the scholarship wind quintet and new music ensemble NowHearThis!. During her time at Western, she has performed in masterclasses with Davis Hampton, Kinan Azmeh, Anthony McGill, and Jose Franch-Ballester. Outside of school, Amara performs clarinet with the PNW Opera and is co-principal of the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra.
