Students studying photography in the Department of Art and Art History at Western Washington University (WWU) will have a public display of images on the second floor of the newly renovated Carver building. The exhibition will be on view from February 7 – March 7, 2018.
The display consists of fifteen 40 x 50 inch images from the project entitled ‘Big Heads.’ The Art 371 students utilized the lighting studio and a traditional view camera (4x5 film) to explore the genre of portraiture. Working in teams, they created pieces that documented each members’ individual concept.
Featured students include: Reese Bowen (Gig Harbor, WA), Kiya Coon (Kirkland, WA), Simon Froehlich (Anchorage, AK), Andrew Hamilton (Seattle, WA), MacKenzie Hattrup (Kent, WA), Jarita Hui (Bothell, WA), Kiara Koenig-Lee (Bellingham, WA), Luke Larson (Tumwater, WA), Megan McAndie (Sequim, WA), Robert Miller (Bellingham, WA), Franchine Ninh (Mukilteo, WA), Serena Southwick (Renton, WA), Darren Stapley (Perth, Australia), Alisa Williams (Seattle, WA), and Molly Wood-Dorner (Seattle, WA).
