Scientist and Artist Brandon Ballengée authored the book "Malamp: The Occurence of Deformities in Amphibians," based on his studies published in the Journal of Experimental Zoology. In 2011, he was awarded a conservation leadership fellowship from the National Audubon Society's TogetherGreen Program. Ballengée is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Louisiana State University. His project, "Crude Life Portable Museum: A Citizen Art and Science Investigation of Gulf of Mexico Biodiversity after the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill," comes from his current research on the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. It is ongoing thanks to a Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Interdisciplinary Projects Grant Award from NAKFI.
