Emily Perry is a junior studying piano performance under the guidance of Professor Milica Jelaca-Jovanovic.

Raised in Seattle, she began taking piano lessons at age 4 and playing double bass in her elementary school orchestra at 11.Throughout her life she was exposed to a myriad of visual and performing arts in her home, school ensembles, church organizations, and in participation with The Cascade and Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras.

To supplement money for music camps over the summer, Emily grew up busking at Pike Place Market on the weekends. She has gratefully accepted scholarships from The Don C. Walter Memorial Scholarship, The Ford Hill Piano Scholarship, and the William Sanford Piano Scholar award during her time at Western.

She has twice performed for the Sunday @ 3 Jansen Art Center Youth Concert Series, and for William Chapman Nyaho in a master class at WWU. She is active as a soloist, composer, and currently works for a music school based in the PNW. She is thrilled to continue her musical journey at Western and would like to thank all of her professors for their continued support, guidance and inspiration.
