Greg Pattillo was described by the New York Times as “the best in the world at what he does.” After his landmark videos went viral on YouTube in 2007, Pattillo has been known worldwide for his signature beatbox flute sound, performing and teaching as a soloist and as a founding member of The Project Trio.
With over 100 million views of his solo videos, featuring arrangements of Super Mario Bros., Inspector Gadget, Peter and the Wolf, Sesame Street, and Freedom Jazz Dance, Greg has been featured on the Jay Leno show (NBC), iCarly (Nickelodeon), It’s On with Alexa Chung (MTV), Best Damn Sports Show (FOX), Lily Allen and Friends (BBC), and YolanDa’s Band Jam (CBeebies). His music was featured in the 2017 Lego Ninjago Movie as the Beatbox Flute music of “Master Wu”. In 2010 he premiered the "Native Tongues" Concerto for Beatbox Flute, composed by Randall Woolf and conducted by Ransom Wilson, with the North Carolina School of the Arts Orchestra.
The Project Trio has produced 6 full-length CDs, 2 EPs, and a live DVD, as well as cultivating over 100,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel. They have played tours in Italy, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Israel, as well as most US states. After winning a U.S. Department of State American Music Abroad Fellowship, the Project Trio embarked on a diplomatic and educational tour of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.
