Katy Oettel, in collaboration with Mark Davies, will perform a virtue Senior Recital featuring works by Mendolssohn, Grieg, Duparc, Puccini, Mozart, Debussy and Beach. Katy Oettel is a Senior Vocal Performance major at Western Washington University. She will be graduating this quarter earning her bachelor's degree in Music performance. During her first two years at Western, she studied with voice professor, Dr. Eric Rieger and has currently studied with voice professor, Heather Dudenbostel. She received the Lloyd Walworth Music Endowment scholarship her junior year and the Don Walter Memorial scholarship this year. During the past 4 years, Katy has performed in Western's annual Opera Scenes program in many roles such as Adele from Die Fledermaus, as Blonda from The Abduction of the Seraglio, and Miss Titmouse from Too Many Sopranos. She was in Western's 2021 spring opera, Orpheus and the Underworld in the role of Juno. She will also be performing in this year's Opera Scenes program as The Queen of the Night in an excerpt from Die Zauberflot.
