The United States Coast Guard Band presents a free concert at Western Washington University Performing Arts Center, located at 516 High St. This event is a part of the United States Coast Guard Band’s “Centennial Celebration” Concert Tour, under the direction of Captain Adam R. Williamson. Celebrating its 100th year in operation, your United States Coast Guard Band invites you to join us in its one and only centennial tour. This series of free concerts takes place from February 13th to February 24th throughout the Coast Guard’s Eleventh and Thirteenth Districts.
Established in 1925, the United States Coast Guard Band is the premier musical representative of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security and is the Coast Guard’s only professional musical ensemble. The Band serves the American people through its mission of promoting public goodwill toward the U.S. Coast Guard, preserving and honoring the heritage, traditions, and history of the Coast Guard and our nation, enhancing pride within our service, supporting Coast Guard recruiting activities, and performing for official functions.
The 55-member ensemble is proud to perform throughout Coast Guard District 11 and 13 and celebrate its one hundred years of service. This centennial tour presents wind band favorites, virtuosic solo features, rousing marches, new music by American composers, and patriotic classics in a program that is sure to bring the audience to its feet!
