Please come and join in the celebration as the Western Washington University Symphony Orchestra gives its first in-person performance in nearly a year and a half!
Our program includes the world premiere of Circulation by Sum Yee Lee, winner of the inaugural WWU Composition Competition. Joining her are two winners of the 2021 Concerto Competition, clarinetist David Bissell and soprano Olivia Pedroza, performing Gerald Finzi’s Five Bagatelles for Clarinet and Orchestra, and Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915.
Closing the program is William Dawson’s revelatory Negro Folk Symphony, one of the great, unsung masterpieces of American music.
This is an evening not to be missed!
