Western Washington University and the San Juan Music Educators Association host the annual SJMEA/Western Washington University Percussion Festival
The festival was founded in 2011 by Kay Reilly, Brad Hendry and Jacob Scherr to provide a venue for percussion ensembles and drumlines to perform for one another and share ideas. It has grown to become a highlight of the percussion calendar at WWU each year and includes over 200 participating high school percussionists.
Featured Guest Artist
Erin Jorgensen, a marimba player, composer, and concert-producer based in Seattle, WA.
Erin is currently working on an album of cover songs played on acoustic marimba and an album of new music on amplified marimba, both of which will be released in 2026. Learn more and stay tuned for concerts and other events at ErinJorgensen.com.
