From Dusk to Infinity: The Choral Orchestral Works of Lili Boulanger, featuring the Western Symphony Orchestra
Join the WWU Concert Choir, Advanced Treble Chorale, and Advanced Tenor Bass Chorale as they present their spring choir concert featuring the Western Symphony Orchestra! This program will include individual sets by each of WWU's auditioned choirs, including works by Debussy, Säje, William Dawson, Roderick Williams, Shawn Kirchner, and more.
All three choirs will then be joined by the Western Symphony Orchestra to present a suite of three choral orchestral works by Lili Boulanger, younger sister of famed 20th-century composition pedagog Nadia Boulanger. Lili's music is not as widely known as one would expect, especially considering her work is widely regarded to be extraordinary. These combined WWU ensembles and student soloists will perform her works Pour Les Funérailles d'un Soldat (For the Funeral of a Soldier), Soir Sur la Plaine (Evening on the Plain), and Vieille Prière Bouddhique (Old Buddhist Prayer).
