Explore the options below and email us with any questions!
General Practice Rooms
General Practice Rooms are open to all WWU students and the community during open building hours.
General practice rooms are located on Lower Level 1 (LL1) and Lower Level 2 (LL2). See the PAC Floor Map for more details. Each room has an upright piano, music stand, piano bench, and often a mirror.
Digital Drumset Lab
The Digital Drumset Lab is open to all WWU students during open building hours. Send an email to drums@wwu.edu requesting access. You will then receive an email response letting you know you have been given access to the Digital Drumset Lab Canvas course.
Once you have access to the Canvas page, read the guidelines for the use of the Digital Drumset Lab, and take the short quiz. After you have taken the quiz, print and sign the drum lab agreement and email drums@wwu.edu to schedule a meeting with the Percussion Area Manager for a signature. The Percussion Area Manager must sign the agreement for it to be valid.
Take the signed agreement to the Music Office, PA-273. You will now be able to check out a key to the lab from the office during their business hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Note
You only need to complete these steps ONCE during your attendance at WWU. The Music Office will keep your completed agreement form on file for reference.
Grand Piano Practice Rooms
Grand piano practice rooms are located on LL1 (Rooms 169, 171, 173, and 175) and are locked at all times. They are reserved for students enrolled in piano lessons and accompanying courses at WWU. Students reserve practice time based upon the number of piano and/or piano accompanying credits enrolled in each quarter. The cost is $15 per credit per quarter.
Piano practice times are scheduled based on seniority and degree program. The Piano Area Coordinator will send eligible students the necessary information for payment and reservation of quarterly practice times at the beginning of each quarter.
Eligible students must pay the Grand Piano Practice Room fee after receiving instructions from the Piano Area Coordinator and before checking out a key. Proof of payment is required to check out a key.
Percussion Practice Rooms
Percussion practice rooms are located on LL1 (Rooms 9, 11, and 12) and are locked at all times. They are reserved for eligible percussion students. Practice room sign-up occurs at the first percussion masterclass of each quarter.
The Percussion Area Coordinator will send a list of eligible students to the Music Office at the beginning of each quarter. Students will need to go to the Music Office to check out a key.
The percussion practice rooms are available to students on a first come first served basis until practice room sign-up occurs at the first masterclass of each quarter.
