Music Minor, General Studies
The 30-credit Music Minor consists of a basic core of study in music theory, along with ensemble performance, and introduction to music history, and optional private instruction. The minor allows for individual preferences by focusing studies toward certain aspects of music, while broadening the scope of academic pursuits for a student pursuing a major in a different field.
Jazz Studies Minor
This program is designed for music majors who have an interest in a higher level of jazz performance. The jazz studies minor is open to all students declared as a music major. The Jazz Studies Minor consists of a basic core of study in jazz theory and improvisation, jazz arranging and composition, and jazz history, along with ensemble performance and private improvisation instruction. The jazz studies minor allows for intensifying studies in jazz while completing a music major.
