Art Interventions in Brazil is a combined Art History and Studio Art program taking place in Fall 2025. The course focuses on exploring modern and contemporary art in three major Brazilian cities: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte. Students will learn about printmaking tactics, work with local art studios, and visit the São Paulo Biennial and Inhotim art collection.

Coursework will include readings, presentations, art historical research, and studio-based projects that reflect on visits to exhibitions, museums, and galleries, alongside other cultural activities such as music, dance, and cuisine. Students at all levels are welcome.

Contact Studio Art Professor Lisa Turner or Art History Professor Jacqueline Witkowski to learn about how to apply, what to expect, activities, and destinations. Learn more about Art Interventions in Brazil at Western’s Global Studies page.
