Brian Nigus works featured at Make.Shift First Friday Event

Brian Nigus, Instructional Technician for the Department of Art and Art History at Western, will have works featured in the Make.Shift Art Space Clipboard show for the September 4 First Friday event at 306 Flora Street in Bellingham from 5 to 9 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public as part of Bellingham's First Friday Artwalks.

Make.Shift invited artists of all abilities to create 2D or 3D works on upcycled clipboards to present this community exhibition featuring dozens of local intergenerational artists. All the works are for sale for $100.

In the spring of 2026, Make.Shift Art Space took on unprecedented flooding, causing multiple practice spaces unusable, so proceeds from works sold at the event support working artists studios, facility restoration and repair at the community art space.

Brian Nigus is an artist, curator, and gallery manager who currently manages art studios and art fabrication shops at WWU.
