Every Day is a Good Day for the Basics

Department of Music Chair Dr. Christopher Bianco will conduct a workshop called "Everyday is a Good Day to Work on Conducting Basics" for Vancouver Symphony Orchestra's Crescendo Professional Development Symposium on November 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

Dr. Bianco's session will focus on basic set-up and movement mechanics for the every-day conductor. Bianco will discuss and demonstrate techniques related to posture, tension, preparatory gesture, non-verbal communication for articulation and left hand independence.

Crescendo is a professional development symposium for music specialist teachers presented by the Vancouver Symphony Education Department and VSO School of Music, in partnership with the UBC School of Music. Crescendo features sessions on teaching band, strings, choir, elementary music, and jazz, held at the VSO School of Music.
