Student, faculty works win awards at American College Dance Festival
Western Washington University Dance majors capture top honors at American College Dance Festival!
Our students were selected to perform in a gala at the end of the festival for their performance of Professor Nolan Dennett's seminal work, "French."
"French" - choreographed by Dennett - and "The Winged" - choreographed by Modern Dance pioneer Jose Limon - were among only a handful of dances so honored.
424 students attended the festival.
"Our students were the cream of the crop turning in performances that were mature, musical and dramatically compelling." - Nolan Dennett
The lighting design for "French" was by Darren McCroom and costumes by Susan Haines. Haines' costumes were specially noted and praised by the festival adjudicators.
“French” was performed by Keenan Komoto with Eli Madsen, Nolan Hoppe-Leonard with Cecilia Hanford and Derek Loerzel.
