Auditions are open for Larissa FastHorse's "The Thanksgiving Play." The production will be directed by Rich Brown.

Auditions for The "Thanksgiving Play" will be held September 24, 2022 with callbacks on September 25.

Auditions are open to all majors.

Synopsis

Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse’s wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally “woke” teaching artists scramble to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month.

Character Actions Disclosure

Act One, Scene 6, Page 46. Characters: Jaxton, Caden, Alicia. Action: Jaxton pulls bloody prop heads of Native Americans, out of a bag. Jaxton and Caden kick and toss the heads. Alicia joins.

Instructions for your audition

  • Choose one monologue, 1 minute in length, show appropriate.
  • Make sure to fill out the online form and sign up for an audition slot
  • Deadline to sign up is Friday, September 23 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. *If you need to change your audition time or if you missed the deadline please reach out to Production Manager, Savannah LeCornu (lecorns@wwu.edu) AND Stage Manager, Gabe O’Rourke-Dela Cruz (orourkg@wwu.edu) to see what options might be available to you.
  • Audition: Auditions will be held from 10am-2pm on Saturday September 24th. The day will be broken up into 5 minute slots. You will only need to sign up for one of these slots. Sign ups are online. Auditions will be in person in PA 399.
  • Callbacks: Callbacks will be held in person on Sunday September 25th, in 399, from 2pm-5pm. The callback list will be announced via email on Saturday, September 25th after auditions. Students are responsible for checking their emails for information about callbacks.
  • Vaccination Requirement With the support of the department and the WWU Covid-19 Support Team, this production requires all student performers to be vaccinated, regardless of exceptions/waiver status. Participants will be expected to prove their vaccination status by either presenting their physical vaccination card or a clear and readable photograph of the front and back of the card.
