Western alumni, faculty and staff showcase new dance performance "WAITING"

3 older women in long red dresses sitting on individual benches in a front to back line. On either side, a younger woman in a knee-length red dress floats in the air above bench level.

Kuntz and Company artists Alona Christman (WWU staff), Vanessa Daines (WWU alum/staff), Pam Kuntz (WWU faculty) and Kate Stevenson (WWU alum/staff) along with community members Hazel, Emily, Naquoia (WWU alum), Shalini, Kathy, Ann, Kim, Angela (WWU faculty), Evelyn (WWU alum), and Skyla (WWU student) bring "WAITING" to the Firehouse Arts and Events Center, October 3 through 5 at 7:30 p.m. and October 5 and 6 at 5 p.m.

"WAITING" is a new dance/theatre piece created by Kuntz and Company artists Alona Christman, Vanessa Daines, Pam Kuntz and Kate Stevenson, along with 10 community members from ages 12 to 75. The performance explores the idea of waiting for each of these women.

"WAITING" investigates the unknown or the inevitable, the exciting or the devastating, or the mundane or the thrill of waiting. The performers dive into the obstacles, the patience, the relationships, or the self-generated tensions surrounding all that is waiting. What has emerged is a wildly imaginative landscape filled with humor, sadness, nature, flying, water fountains, and wrestling.

Tickets and information are available at Kuntz and Company's website.
