Christine Engelfried
About
Christine Engelfried is a professional dancer, movement educator and yoga teacher. She is based in Bellingham, Washington and is originally from Los Angeles, CA. Christine graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a double major in Dance and Communication Studies.
Her background includes hip-hop, modern, ballet and jazz. Christine’s love of movement continues to inform her life through teaching, performing and processing life and the human experience. Christine enjoys creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for all participants; holding space for people to connect to their body, breath and mind and cultivate an inner sense of play, where they can dance, sweat & LIVE. She is also a graduate of the summer dance program at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, the LACDC Summer Intensive, the EDGE PAC Immersion Program, and is a certified GROOV3 instructor, and a Founding Guide for KINRGY, a wellness platform created by Emmy® award winning dancer and artist Julianne Hough.
Christine is also a dance educator and yoga instructor for various companies, including KINRGY, Ompractice, Focal Point Pilates + Movement, Equinox and YogaWorks. She has also led movement experiences for events for Oprah’s 20/20 Vision Tour, Tony Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, the FitOn App, Dannon’s Light and Fit series, SOHO House and Global Citizen LA.
Christine is a certified yoga teacher at the 500-hour level with YogaWorks, a certified Restorative Yoga Teacher, a Reiki Master, and an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist completing clinical hours with UCLA patients in five modalities of treatment: yoga therapy (restorative poses, breath awareness, in-bed movement, and guided meditation), Reiki, essential oil therapy, nutrition and contemplative care. She has also completed training and received continuing education in therapeutics, iRest Yoga Nidra and is currently pursuing a certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness coaching
