Director of Choral Activities, Professor Timothy Fitzpatrick
Conductor, Choral Music Education, Dr. Angela Broeker

The University Treble Choir is a large ensemble that performs music for soprano and alto voices. Consisting of a combination of music majors, minors and non-majors, this ensemble is open to all university students. In addition to performing as a choir, the University Treble Choir also perform pieces for mixed choirs with the University Tenor/Bass Choir.

Open Enrollment

Students may enroll in this ensemble during any quarter at WWU. The ensemble meets Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2:00 - 2:50 pm in the Performing Arts Center. Credits are repeatable and may be used towards electives and total graduation requirements.

Vocal Assessment

Singers who would like to perform in this ensemble are given a simple vocal diagnostic, used to determine placement in choir. Vocal Diagnostics will be given during the first day of class or by arrangement. The vocal diagnostic includes a simple range test and providing information about your choral/vocal background. Please visit our Ensemble Auditions page for more detailed information.

High School Festival

Every year, The WWU Choral Area invites high schools from around Washington State to participate in a non-auditioned festival for soprano/alto voices, and a separate festival for tenor/bass voices. In the past, these two festivals have been offered at different times of the year. Starting fall 2018, they will be integrated, and offered on the same day! On the last Friday of each October, the newly integrated festival offers high school singers the opportunity to be part of a mass choir experience in which they sing alongside collegiate level students, have the opportunity to be coached by renowned area clinicians and hear collegiate level soloists and choral ensembles. The event is a great buy-in for students new to the choral experience and supports high school teachers seeking to grow their choral programs through this motivating and inspiring festival.
