Eugene Zoro has been a member of Western's faculty since 1969, where he serves as coordinator for the Woodwind Performance Studies Area.  A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, he holds the Bachelor of Music with Distinction and Master of Music degrees, as well as the Performer's Certificate in clarinet.  Zoro is an active soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, having performed to critical acclaim in over 100 concerts as the principal clarinetist of The American Sinfonietta during the orchestra's European tours and summer festivals.  Additionally, he is frequently sought after as a clinician and adjudicator in the United States and Canada.  Prof. Zoro can be heard in Leonard Bernstein's Sonata for Clarinet and Piano on Pear Records CD #PR32723, and Anton Reicha's Woodwind Quintets, Opus 91, nos. 1 & 2 on Crystal Records CD #264, Opus 91, nos. 3 & 4 on Crystal Records CD #265, Opus 91, nos. 5 & 6 on Crystal Records CD #266, and Opus 99, nos. 1 & 2 on Crystal Records CD #267. He will be recording Opus 88, nos. 1 and 2 at the end of May, beginning of June 2008.
