Dance's Pam Kuntz, dance alums at Whatcom Museum for "Dialog(s)"

a sketch-like line drawing depicting a palimpsest of moving outlines of bodies

Presented by Kuntz and Company at the Whatcom Museum Lightcatcher Building, "Dialog(s)" is a movement conversation between two seated individuals. One chair will be empty, waiting for an attendees to sit down and make a gesture.

In the other will be someone ready to make a connection: responding and offering movements of their own.

This is an invitation to see and be seen, to be playful and spontaneous, and to possibly surprise yourself.

"Dialog(s)" is inspired by similar performance work that focused on acknowledging another’s presence. Beyond mere presence, this work focuses on communication.

The work features Western alumni and staff, as well as members of Bellingham Repertory Dance.

Collaborators include:

  • Kate Stevenson
  • Vanessa Daines
  • Caitlin Schafte
  • Cecelia Hanford
  • Soleil Chappelle
  • Mia Cullen

The first "Dialog(s)" will be on February 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Whatcom Museum Lightcatcher Building at 250 Flora St. For information, call the Museum at 360-778-8930 or email the Museum.
