Bellingham TheatreWorks presents the world premiere drama of office politics and intrigue: "Just Once", written and directed by Professor of Directing Mark Kuntz, featuring Associate Professor of Voice/Acting Evan Mueller and Theatre Arts alum Gabi Gilbride.

Performances at the Sylvia Center run January 7 through the 16.

In Rick’s (Mueller) office, tensions rise to the breaking point between himself and his new employee, Julie (Gilbride). Restrained by the rules of the office and society, and their own past experiences, they struggle to reach each other through the expectations and restrictions of the sterile stage of the American workplace. The play fluidly changes from reality to their own inner worlds, letting the audience into their secret desires, and guarded pasts.

Bellingham TheatreWorks returns from the Pandemic with a story that speaks to the unexpressed desires of our hearts. Kuntz describes the heartbeat of the show: “I am interested in the thoughts that happen in our head that will always stay in our head.  How much of our life is spent imagining things that we know will never happen? How does this world of imagination present itself as we are living our lives?”

Bellingham TheatreWorks was founded by Steve Lyons and Mark Kuntz in 2014, to produce stories of significance to the Pacific Northwest, focused on local actors and playwrights.
