Program

This concert is a celebration of the power and diversity of women's voices through music.  We feature works by Chrétien Hedwige, Ileana Perez Velazquez, Elizabeth Raum, Gabriela Ortiz, and Valerie Coleman for oboe and strings, wind quintet, and cool combinations of winds, voice, harp, and piano.  Performers include by WWU's own Fifth Inversion, faculty, and guests. Valerie Coleman: Portraits of Josephine

 

Suite for Wind Quintet

Coleman's work is a musical memoir dedicated to Josephine Baker that chronicles significant moments in Baker’s life, her humor, and quick rise to fame. 

 

About the Off the Hill Concert Series

OFF THE HILL is a virtuoso chamber music series that features WWU's award-winning music faculty and guests.

Join us for 5 extraordinary concerts this season. All proceeds support Music Department scholarships.

All performances this season are at 7:30 p.m. in the Whatcom Museum Rotunda Room
121 Prospect Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. Doors open at 7pm.
