Getting Here

There are many ways to get to Western. We encourage alternative transportation to reduce strain on the environment and limited parking. Enjoy views of the bay and Bellingham's sumptuous greenery along the way! While you're here, grab a refreshment at on-campus dining locations, and peruse the famous outdoor sculpture collection.

If you decide to drive, please consider carpooling!

Some people choose to park elsewhere and walk or ride the bus to campus. Blue Line WTA buses route through campus and the bus station downtown 15 minutes, including a stop in front of the Performing Arts Center. This is a great option if you'd like to visit a restaurant, cafe, bar, brewery, or do some shopping before or after an event.

Parking on campus

How to pay

Free Parking

Parking is free in the C lots on evenings (after 4:30pm) and weekends.

Pay online or reserve ahead

Use Parkmoblie.io or the ParkMobile app to pay online. You can pay for parking before you go, or when you get there. ParkMobile also gives you the option to extend your parking before the meter runs out.

For daily and weekly parking, you can purchase a permit through Western's parking portal.

Pay Stations

Use a debit or credit card at the pay station in the lot where you park.

Where to park

Visitors can always park in the C lots on the south end of campus, and in Lot 6V on the north end of campus near the Viking Union and Performing Arts Center. Other lots are available to visitors on evenings (after 4:30pm) and weekends.

From the C lots

Allow yourself at least 20 minutes to get from your parking spot to your destination on campus. If you need a lift, blue line WTA buses shuttle through campus every 15 minutes.

From Lot 6V

Take the stairs, or take the elevator in the Viking Union (Check VU hours) to floor 6 to get to the main campus level where the Performing Arts Center is.
