Darren McCroom has been a lighting designer for 34 years. His work has been seen throughout the USA, Rome and Asia. He has worked for such theatres as the Actors theatre of Louisville, Berkley Repertory Theatre, The Lincoln Center Institute, The Indian Repertory Theatre, The Juilliard School, Syracuse Stage, The Swine Palace, La Mama, The Kitchen, The Utah Shakespeare Festival, The Soho Rep., The Seattle Group Theatre, The Empty Space Theatre, The Seattle Children’s Theatre, Mixed Blood Theatre, Ford’s Theatre and many more. Darren has won many awards for his designs including: the 2010 Falstaff Award for his lighting design for “Throne of Blood” at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Best lighting design for “Fish Head Soup” and a NAACP nomination for Best lighting design for “Looking over the President’s shoulder.” Mr. McCroom received his MFA from the University of Illinois and is BFA from Rockford College. Darren has taught lighting design at Jackson State University and Texas State University.
