Ethan Rome
About
Ethan Rome is a half Korean and Norwegian dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Seattle, Washington. His primary genre is contemporary, but has a wide vocabulary of experience, drawing on his background in breaking, hip-hop, and martial arts. He has choreographed original works for the Seattle International Dance Festival, the University of Iowa, Gonzaga University, Ballet Chelsea, the Khambatta Dance Company, Price Arts N.E.W., Intrepidus Dance, and has received the Bridge Project residency and the James Ray Residency. Ethan has co-founded two companies Forthun+Rome Dance Theater and currently the Trillium Dance Collective. These companies have created and produced multiple shows, pieces, and films.
Ethan has performed as a dancer with the Khambatta Dance Company, the Seattle Opera, Kayle+Company and various other projects. Ethan has performed and taught around the world and in the United States, including: Seattle, throughout the Midwest, Puerto Rico, Lithuania, India, Mexico, and Brazil.
He graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Dance, Psychology, and Entrepreneurial Management. From there he trained at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and then relocated to Seattle
