Bennerstrom Prize matching gift campaign
This year marked the first award of the Bennerstrom Prize, funded by fans and friends of the artist, and given to a student in honor of Susan Bennerstrom's contributions to fine art.
The first recipient was Abby Kuchar, selected by faculty from students who have shown dedication and creativity in their craft. All art students are encouraged to participate, resulting in a plethora of art on display, ranging from sculptures to paintings to photography.
The WWU Foundation, thanks to support of generous donors, is able to offer a matching campaign to increase the amount of the prize.
Gifts to the prize will be doubled by a $2,000 challenge match, after that challenge is met, a percentage of every gift will be matched by the WWU Give Day Challenge Fund.
Any donor contributing a total amount of $200 or more to the prize will receive a gorgeous book containing reproductions of some of Susan Bennerstrom's paintings and interesting commentary.
