WeLearn Arts

"Art does not solve problems, but makes us aware of their existence."

- sculptor Magdalena Abakanowicz

A 2005 Rand report finds that learning in the arts "can connect people more deeply to the world and open them to new ways of seeing." Experiencing and understanding the arts creates a personal foundry in which to forge community and society.

The College of Fine and Performing Arts at Western graduates hundreds of students each year in Art, Art History, Dance, Design, Music, and Theatre. Along the way, the students and faculty create many learning opportunities for our whole community to enjoy.

These opportunities can be masterclasses, lectures, performances, interviews with artists, virtual works, and more. Take a moment to look at all the things we have to share. Then dive a little deeper into a work to explore the texture, details, and perspective of the creators and educators.

Feel free to share your thoughts and reflections with us. We'd love to hear from you.
