Xaria Siplin, in collaboration with Rachel Roulet will perform a senior recital with a pre-concert lecture featuring works by Handel, Mozart, Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, Xavier Montsalvatge, and Florence Price.

Xaria Siplin is a senior currently studying Vocal performance under Professor Kathryn Weld, graduating in the fall with degrees in music performance and psychology along with a minor in creative writing. She has also continued her harp lessons with Professor Jill Whitman, which were started in the fall of 2021. She has been a member of WWU's Concert Choir for 4 years, along with being a cast member in Street Scene this past year. She was previously a student member of the Dialogue and Communication subcommittee within the Restructure and Transform Task Force which was focused on changing the culture of the current music curriculum and strive towards a more equitable curriculum. Starting from last quarter with the guidance of Dr. Youngblood, Xaria has begun to engage in music with a more musicological framework, with some of the research being present in the pre-concert lecture.
