The WSO presents an evening of music related to the topic of rivers: Alaskan composer John Luther Adams’ Become River, in which the music actually emulates the dynamic of a river from its headwaters to its delta; G.F. Handel’s Water Music, written as background music for George I’s barge parties on the Thames in 1717; and Mississippi River by Florence Price, depicting the music and culture of the people living along the river’s course.
