The WSO presents an evening of music related to the topic of rivers: Alaskan composer John Luther Adams’ Become River, in which the music actually emulates the dynamic of a river from its headwaters to its delta; G.F. Handel’s Water Music, written as background music for George I’s barge parties on the Thames in 1717; and Mississippi River by Florence Price, depicting the music and culture of the people living along the river’s course.
When you come to the Performing Arts Center, give yourself an extra moment to appreciate Claude Zervas' work in the lobby: Middle Fork, 2015.
