Open call: Art for Social Justice

Open call for art! Films, poems, photos, essays, music, monologues, choreography, multimedia. Western students will have the opportunity to present their own art for social justice pieces during the informal performances at the culmination of the residency with NYC dance artist Briana Reed held on campus at the Commissary studios. Performance time TBD June 18.

To be included in the show you MUST REGISTER by June 5 before midnight.

Multi-disciplinary projects will be shared at the Commissary in a gallery-style performance, with digital media broadcast on our large-screen teaching stations. Visual art will be displayed in the studios.

Students from other art disciplines and colleges at Western are encouraged to participate in the art for social justice workshops to broaden the scope of the performance and foster greater collaboration.

All visual art pieces must be completed and brought to the Commissary by 5 p.m. on June 15. All digital art pieces must be received by 5 p.m .on June 15. Instructions will be included in the response to your registration.

Performance pieces (time limit of 15 minutes) will submit a rehearsal video and program information by June 10 at 5 p.m. Submission instructions will be in the registration confirmation.
